@ampsfun is one of those ideas you hear & immediately think, “Well, yeah, obviously.” It taps into the full power of Farcaster’s open social graph, allowing builders & creators to hack their own distribution by paying willing members of their network to selectively amp-lify their messaging.
I’m fortunate to have a decent following here, but I still use Amps.fun regularly—to bootstrap virality, surface important casts, & reward good posters. For people with smaller networks, I could see it being even more useful for getting that reach ball rolling.
Over on X, you can pay Elon to boost your tweets and it doesn’t even really work all that well in my experience, but with Amps, you’re literally paying your friends directly to organically amplify your voice. You get a head start on hacking the algo. They get to earn passive income by being open conduits for creativity. What’s not to like?
