Expanding on this cast — here is a non-exhaustive list of things that take a lot of time, but (hopefully) make for good video podcasts that don’t feel like “aimless zoom calls” (these stem from my experience producing ZEROPOD for @zerorightsmedia, YMMV)

- only invite good guests, if it’s a guest pod (no substitute for this and the rest doesn’t really matter if the guest is bad or boring)
- for the love of god, do some research on your guest and make a list of questions / general plan before your record. You can always vibe on the fly but it helps to have a structure to lean on.
- do a multicam edit that seamlessly transitions between single speakers & multicam feed in a context-aware way using raw feeds for each speaker for max video/audio quality (s/o to santhosh from our team who does these for most episodes) We use Riverside for raw files, but there are lots of options that are not Zoom. There are also AI tools that claim to be able to do these automatically. They are not good.
