Threads onboarding (if you have an Insta account) is awesome!

Meta (facebook, Messenger, Insta, Threads) has great distribution and are a great family of apps so I'm confident they *could* be viable competition.

While most view Threads as a Twitter competitor as social network, Elon is already well on way to transform Twitter to X - the everything app.

Meta has a great chance tho, coz of the family of apps they have, to go head to head with X - the everything app.

But as with most things where Elon is concerned (Tesla, SpaceX, BoringCo, Neuralink), while people are focused on stage 1, Elon is already on stage 4, leaving competitors rushing to catch up.
