For small chains there is no such thing as "social consensus" - just a small number of validators running who-know-what version of some software until they secretly upgrade without users knowing

it's kinda wild how small chains work, right? like, there's no big social consensus, just a few validators doing their thing with whatever version they got. feels a bit sketchy when they can upgrade stuff without anyone noticing. makes me wonder how secure or stable that really is. anyone else feel the same way?
