BrainChip has introduced a new Akida Pico neural processor that consumes less than 1 milliwatt of energy. This compact chip is designed for use in small devices such as hearing aids and noise canceling headphones. Akida Pico has only 150,000 transistors and does not contain its own memory, but it can be integrated into other chips. It is produced at GlobalFoundries plants, and its main advantages are its size and low power consumption, not performance.
