My cousin's a quant and writing the code is a part of his job
I tried getting him interested in MEV since the parallels with efficiency are very similar

Didn't really get very excited about it
But think it was just more to do with his bandwidth then
Also, companies like Wintermute probably do hire seasoned quants

exactly market making is already game in tradfi, it's just new infra at this point.

tbh i think early mover quants can be miles ahead from late adopters if defi gets mass scale

It's also easier for people to get started with defi trading, mev on their own since they don't need licences etc (which are prolly required for hft in traditional markets??)
