For a person to have grown to a certain level in leading people. Although it may not be necessary in some cases.

But I believe in the art of humility, hardwork and improvising... 

Something that can help with that is to have been on a low-earned job let's say a restaurant waiter or a cleaner.

Practical jobs do help in opening the mind, especially if you're one to aim higher and not settle for less.

It's just my take through experience though.
