Vitalik Buterin supported the AI security bill💪

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed his support for California's SB 1047 bill on artificial intelligence safety.

He liked that the bill introduces the category of “critical harm”. One of the goals of the initiative is to make safety testing mandatory. So if a world-threatening capability/behavior is discovered during testing, you won't be allowed to release the model at all, Buterin noted.

“In 2024, AI passes the Turing test. It's worth taking it seriously. The same instincts that make us fear a very powerful government should make us fear an unexpectedly powerful superintelligence,” the Ethereum co-founder said.
