As for non-surgical solutions, a Netti pot with warm saline can relieve the symptoms, but if it’s bacterial, I’m not sure anything less than antibiotics will do

The flare ups have gotten (much) less frequent over the years. But I'm hit with such a bad one this week I was basically bed/sofa ridden for a few days.  Not sure if it's bacteria, yeah I probably should get a netti pot. I suppose just buy a generic one + make your own saline solution?

Yes generic, and some come with packets of powder saline that you mix with water. Otherwise a teaspoon of clean table salt will do.

Just make sure you boil the water first and let it cool down. It’s a hassle but you don’t want risking amoeba or similar climbing up the cribriform plate
