Arrest of Blum Co-Founder Vladimir Smerkis Tied to Earlier Crypto Projects Vladimir Smerkis — co-founder of the Blum crypto project and former Binance executive for the CIS — has reportedly been arrested. The case appears to stem not from Blum itself, but from his past ventures, where investors are believed to have lost at least $15 million. Colleagues of Smerkis say the accusations are exaggerated. 🕰️ In 2017, Smerkis launched The Token Fund, one of the first crypto funds. Investors bought TKN tokens expecting returns. The project raised $8M and benefited from the bull market, but shut down in 2018, leaving investors empty-handed. 💸 His next venture, Tokenbox, raised $7M. The TBX token was listed on two exchanges but quickly crashed in value and disappeared.
