I find it shocking how polarised everything has become and I think the 2 party structure makes things much worse in the USA. I personally don't feel it is that democratic. Here in the UK I would love to see the voting system change to proportionate representation. I hate having to vote tactically for the other main party just to keep the conservatives out. Trouble is the 2 main parties will never agree to PR because it reduces their chance of a majority.

the book I cited in my cast is a great deep dive into how the polarization is basically purposeful, as the two parties more or less grabbed onto the corporate concept of differentiation to stake out themselves polar opposite positions on a raft of divisive issues that honestly shouldn't be politicized our parties will also never agree to anything that would solve the problem, for the same reason
