Farcaster now seems similar to friend tech at $5m TVL Things get immensely more crazy for a while I still think most people end up going back to Twitter in a few weeks/months but I could very easily be wrong

i think there will be boom in users and then eventual decline as some lose interest but also think there’s lots of potential for staying power, or even for logging in every so often to use topical channels like imagine going to /bittensor to chat tao instead of some subreddit or something. stuff like that

Agree with the Tao example. This really just feels like reviving Reddit more than being a ‘new’ social media Tbh I don’t love that aspect so far. Great for cultivating communities, but not great for a world town hall where you see a huge variety of content

Think the term here is skeuomorphic technology - seeing as we're currently mimicking existing experiences. Definitely helps to onboard users as it provides a sense of familiarity and comfort - but the longterm success of these platforms requires leaps in imagination to create new possibilities/ways to unlock value
