sorry but this seems INSANE but my dad was telling me when he was a kid in Chicago they didn't have trash pickup they just had concrete bins that they burned their trash in and then the garbage people would collect the leftover ashes/stuff that didn't burn. like everybody just threw away their trash inside and then lit it on fire and then left ? idk do other countries still do this regularly ? i guess everybody just breathed in burnt trash all the time ?

no the pic was from online but they phased out the incinerators in the 50s cuz they were bad a lot of ways 🤣 plus pollution. there are probably some still around though like this one maybe
