If it’s a 2 months contract, break it down into bits - In 2 weeks, i must have done X - In 3 weeks, Y should be up and running - In 4 weeks, i should have implemented Z - In 7 weeks, we should have A - In 8 weeks, i must have blown their minds. This is how you keep getting contract extensions, new and returning clients simply because you use the target strategy. Put yourself in a hotseat. don’t be comfortable until you’ve exceeded your targets. - At the end of the day, community management isn’t just about being present It’s about being purposeful. • Targets give you direction on what to do • Execution proves how valuable you are at what you do How do you set your goals? do you follow target structures or you just “go with the flow

I had a chat with a “CM” yesterday and honestly i am beyond shocked I asked “Don’t you set any targets for a discord channel you’re handling?” This is the reply i got. this actually tells a lot. So no targets at all? are you just going to let it free run and leave it to fate? There are two targets you should chase 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩'𝙨 𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙨. When you’re hired, you’re hired for a purpose. That purpose is your target. Now a when a project hires you, they’ll naturally tell you what they need you to accomplish for them. Sometimes these ones are vague like “We want you to grow the community” or “Get the community active” This is actually understandable since when they hired you, they want you to bring in your expertise. - the founder shouldn’t have to rack his brain telling you what to do. The instruction is simple, grow the community. It is now left to you to know how and what you’re supposed to do to get that done.
