Your data matters. It mattered/matters to Facebook, Google, Apple, etc. and it matters to OpenAI, Perplexity, etc.

OpenAI is testing out a social network, one of the most efficient ways to cut out X and Reddit and if they can get the network effect problem solved, it will become the perfect way to feed real time data into their systems for training/tuning.

Perplexity is building Comet because they want more information about you. It'll allow them to give you better results for sure but also to monetize you more effectively.
