I honestly think Farcaster is just a much better experience. Is it the wallet requirement? Why do people keep mentioning Mastodon the most? https://i.imgur.com/z4zzsCv.png

1. Onboarding difficulty is by design. 2. We need to actually ship v2 before we can turn attention back to protocol growth.

anything involving "connecting a wallet" will be order of magnitude harder than traditional web2

I sort of disagree. right now(current web2) signing up to a new platform requires an email verification step that is in my mind more annoying than the wallet experience.

I just think the issue is there is currently no reason to have a crypto wallet. Once there is a killer app people will get a wallet and realize it’s more convenient login mechanism then what is currently understood.

fc comes with integrations with NFTs and on chain records. so a wallet is somehow needed. otherwise this is again web2 at best

What I mean as someone who is involved with the nft and crypto scene. Almost nothing outside of financial rails which are scary for most due to lack of regulation is built that entice anyone to set up a wallet. The wallet is needed everywhere in web3 but there is currently nothing of substance in web3.
