Spotify is changing “Followers” to “active audience.” This is an effort to show who actually cares about your music and wants to listen to it as soon as it’s out.

Remember when I said beware of being told to recruit followers in every platform because it’s just a vanity metric?

Welp! The good news is that the new metric is much more useful, the bad news is that the former that you probably worked for doesn’t matter anymore…
