So Nigeria fined Meta, the owner of Facebook and Instagram, 220 million USD last year for violating an alleged breach of competition rules, among other fines. Meta, in return, is threatening to shut down the apps in the country altogether. Keep in mind that Meta has been fined by the European Union, but has never threatened to pull the apps out of use in Europe. A lot of folks think this is a racist double standard. What are your thoughts and what does this mean for our community here on farcaster that is fostering a more decentralized social media experience in contrast to this type of heavy-handed reaction from big media companies? https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ckgrwxp5r15o.amp

Meta wiped my accounts after 10+ years of usage without explanation. My life only got better without facebook + insta. Slowly began to understand how unscrupulous they are as a company on so many levels.

Def a double standard. If they do, Farcaster should double down on Nigeria, which consistently ranks in the top 10 countries using crypto apps
