The move to Ethereum 2.0 enhances ETH’s value proposition through staking rewards. Validators earn 4-10% annual yields (depending on network participation), incentivizing long-term holding over speculative trading. This reduces selling pressure and aligns with the lower inflation rate, which could fall to near zero or even negative with fee burning (EIP-1559). As more ETH is staked and inflation shrinks, ETH becomes a deflationary asset, likely driving its value higher as a store of value.
