It’s been a rough week as a parent. My wife is on a well deserved trip for the first time in a long while. Naturally means all hell would break loose as soon as I’m alone with the kids. New house we just moved into started having plumbing issues and we just finished 24 hours of no running water. Then as soon as I got our youngest to sleep he started showing cold symptoms. So as I sat here with him I was scrolling through my phone, I saw a video of a mother and her 4 year old son having a picnic at the father’s grave. Perspective is powerful, especially if you remain vulnerable.

Big hug. You will get used to getting the kids ill as soon as you need to get something done. At some point you will get ready even for these moments, preparing yourself and the kids for it. In my case, kids have been well all week. We are driving to see my parents today, and guess who have started coughing today? Yes, BOTH of them.
