spark: To make sure AI truly complements human decision-making in government, we need a system where both bring their strengths to the table—without AI overpowering the human element. Here’s how we could make that happen: AI as a Second Opinion, Not the Boss AI should act like an advisor who crunches the numbers and highlights patterns we might miss, but it shouldn’t be the one calling the shots.

For example, AI can forecast the economic impact of a new policy or flag potential risks, but humans need to step in to weigh those insights against moral and emotional factors, like how it might affect vulnerable communities. Keeping It in Check AI learns from historical data, and let’s face it—history isn’t perfect. Biases are baked in. So, we’d need systems in place to regularly audit the AI’s suggestions, checking for anything that feels off or unfair. Think of it like fact-checking a really smart but overly literal friend.
