I didn't add to /automod for a while because it wasn't truly gated, but after I thought about it more, I like open to read and like but gated writes. It's superior for a lot of use cases.

i saw that! i really like the "private write, public read" and thinks it makes sense for certain announcements, kinda like a news conference or press conference after a sporting event.

for more communal / social experiences, it doesn't make much sense to me tbh. what other use cases do you have in mind?
