2) we SHOULD pay attention to things we’re not interested in; it teaches us discipline. imo behavioral tools >>> meds as a solution.

(2) is a great take but not palatable to modern culture which says you need to follow your own dreams and desires at all costs, and that you are perfect just the way you are.

Agree with this, as a parent of a kid with ADHD it definitely isn't environmental and it's important to help them navigate the environments and activities they have a hard time with instead of isolating them from said environments and activities.
