this is actually my biggest crypto blackpill it so far birthed a generation of millionaires* that didn’t have to do any meaningful work or be particularly useful to others in order to get wealthy, which is the strongest measure of value and as humans we are most fulfilled when we create more value for others

coinbase and its employees are an exception, the * was supposed to be a footnote saying *most but i forgot to add it by the end of the cast fwiw i'm optimistic there will be a wave of crypto millionaires (many of whom were at @basecamp) who obtain wealth by creating surplus value / utility for others, just too few rn

yes, well aware (i'd work for newlimit in a heartbeat) and think this further proves that we agree since i include brian / fred as part of the *few* in my last cast CB and its early employee mafia have provided real value to the world and will continue to do so, but are they the avg crypto millionaire? i'd argue no

I suspect a lot of avg millionaires from the dot com boom weren't any better. Just less online / scrutiny. Not condoning crypto malfeasance, but hard to measure the counterfactual.
