FYI alex botez only had 200 followers when she took the risk and jumped full time into chess streaming, the strong sense of content-market fit gave her confidence “easier to turn attention into capital than to turn capital into attention” cc @unlonely

alex (on future of creators): i predict more founders will partner with a creator in order to be close to their communities, to know how their audience will respond, to have early beta users, etc.

alex (on multiple platforms): i started streaming on twitch 8 hrs/day just being you, whereas YouTube is basically clips, thumbnails, etc. very attention grabby. first we repurposed our content, but at some point you need to create content that’s organic and authentic to the specific platform you want to grow on.

alex’s update on the chess drama with magnus and hans, the “cheater”: because of computers, it is very easy to be suspicious right now. it is extremely difficult to catch people cheating… not saying that he did. lol do you guys remember when there was a conspiracy theory he was using an electronic butt plug
