Just had a home invasion. Went for a fast food run, came back and the door was open an an intruder was standing in my front hall. A chase ensues, I circle around my house, see him fleeing in another direction. I run back in the house while dialing 911, make a bee line for the kitchen knives in case there's someone else

glad you’re okay! that’s so scary. nothing compares to the feelings from an intrusion of privacy and violation of personal safety. hang in there and be kind to yourself in the coming days and weeks.

i feel mostly anger and rage at the moment because my gfriend was home, asleep upstairs. i'm guessing they were casing the joint but didn't know someone else was there. it was earlyish too, not like 3 in the morning, makes it feel somehow more surreal.
