tay does a nice job of shutting you down hard, politely, i respect that. i love his use of "great question" where it obviously wasn't. tay is much kinder and smarter than me.

however lets not pretend that "wow planned economy" was a constructive or intellectually stimulating reply; in fact, as highlighted by my extremely scholarly and philosophical meme, calling everything communism without deeper analysis is a tired fucking rightwing excuse for a "conversation". real tucker carlson-grade pandering honestly. im personally quite put off that you would pretend this comment was in any way serious or legitimate. try harder.

as tay said, no, no this isn't communism, this is a tax, all states use taxation, period. next time you have a question, if you're seeking quality conversation or debate, you can pitch more than a single short reductivism to convey your inquiry. but ya didn't. i don't need pointers on how to interact with bad faith takes like yours, they are a dime a dozen, im rightfully tired of it, thanks.

I try to follow a philosophy that ad-hominem attacks are like nuclear weapons— no first use is best. Mutual assured destruction is pointless. 

Now, this approach absolutely failed the left electorally. Obama’s response to racist conspiracies and birther lies that began proliferating on social media during his presidency was captured in his wife’s motto— “When they go low, we go high.” 

Democrats tried to noble-white-knight civility— while the basis of public eloquence became captivating dirty lies to dog-whistle carnal prejudice. This “high ground” lost them ten years of congress and a presidential term.

Zoomer leftists traumatized by growing up losing elections now know— when opposition lies about you creepily grooming kids, lie back about them creepily fornicating with couches. The lie is the ticket to organic reach. This is why Biden had to drop out. He could not savage.

This being said, I chose to believe @benersing asked about communism in good faith, not as ad-hominem savagery.

ive wasted too much breath arguing with people "just asking questions", "trying to learn" totally insincere. it's a strategy for wearing us down and dividing us that i believe originates with CIA anti leftist infiltration. "just asking questions" is tucker's signature move.

specifically, in your original post, you were clearly describing a single tax on a single type of property owner, with the intention of fixing a captured market. nobody could earnestly construe this to be a "planned economy", flat out. he was refuting your whole idea under the spectre of communism, it was red scare bullshit.

ive been in enough leftist spaces to know that we have to bully these people out, or they will detract from all forward progress. i have immense respect for your patience and inclusive explanation, but i reserve that effort for serious inquiries.

I’ll gently disagree here.

I don’t worry about being a victim of “sealioning” (bad-faith faux intellectual curiosity gaslighting with a carrot of compromise/reconciliation) because I’m not communicating to persuade. I’m communicating to educate myself and other people. 

@benersing and I identified our common ground: “capitalism” is a misnomer and housing costs are influenced by suboptimal nonmarket factors. We could, if we wanted, actually form a think tank and publish policy white papers simply around those two common beliefs. 

We don’t need to agree on how nonmarket housing price factors should be resolved. Just articulating their existence would be a monumental shift by business press and politicians . So would admitting that “capitalism” is a misnomer. 

If he and I achieved nothing but shifting the national conversation on those two beliefs, that would be a spectacular feather in our caps.

Like Derrida says about structure— why assume he doesn’t deviate from assumption?

straight up, every time you speak, i need 3 wikipedia articles and a google search just to keep up, i admire your rigor and im jealous of your deep education, where my philosophy all comes from non-scholastic settings and frankly isn't as measured or balanced

also it seems like he was more earnest than i gave him credit for, and for that i apologize - @benersing maybe i hit too hard here, and should have shown more benefit of the doubt, i make no excuses for it, im sorry.

i can't claim the high ground on this, i won't push my position any further, i hope i can learn to be more like you, tay!
