Nothing makes me appreciate twentieth-century television more than trying to binge-watch a Netflix or Disney+ series. 43 minutes and 5 acts forces plots to move swiftly. It forces actors to emotionally convey key exposition as subtext rather than having production show it. Legacy television respected my time.

The problem is they know the audience itself today doesn’t respect its own time. Attention hijacked, the lot of them.

I think for me, not having a week between episodes really lowers the quality of the experience as well. Not being able to theorize and guess for a week when a show is really good is an experience I think we need to bring back stronger!
