does this channel have rules or bylaws? earnest question is there some (written or unwritten) standard? is there a threshold at which one could be banned or removed from the channel? are there moderators beyond @basche42? regardless if it's 1 mod or multiple, are they following some kind of code or just winging it? by contrast, does this channel have ethos or goals? is there some kind of content we explicitly want here? it's a pickle bc recently the definition of "left" has been called into question, so now i gotta wonder, is there an accepted meaning here? or is this space for anyone who self-identifies as left, whatever that means to them? but mostly i ask bc recently ive noticed what i consider to be anti-left content (not inclusive, anticommunist, or pro-liberalism) so im curious about what we intend to tolerate here, and if this is a space i want to participate in or a space i want to leave quietly to be clear, my personal preference would be strong leadership of a few people making strict rules.

The most defining attribute of “cryptoleft” to me is believing in the power of blockchain technology broadly and cryptocurrency specifically to achieve social and economic justice policy goals. This is a huge break from many prominent self-identified leftists (like Greta Thunberg) who devote enormous, successful effort to savaging blockchain technology— to a point where “leftist” “environmentalist” acolytes swarm out of Discords and Subreddits to eviscerate any person or business daring to dabble in blockchain tech. That’s all I came looking for here. “Woah, leftists who don’t believe blockchain tech and proof-of-work crypto is the apocalypse?!? Such people EXIST?!? I’M IN!”

huge points, this is great! im glad someone brought this up bc it was my original first reaction upon joining seems to me that lately, in that regard, we've kinda veered away from much discussion about that transformative nature - maybe we've gotten a lil too political and forgotten to talk about the tech side, and how blockchain can empower and enable the proletariat maybe, among other discussions we need to have, it's time to revive some early convos we started around a Channel Token, a Scenecoin, or some kind of Reputation/Points mechanism - Tay, what kind of prototype or experiment would be most interesting to you in that regard?
