Should we rebrand Warpcast to Farcaster?

We separated Warpcast (the app) from Farcaster (the protocol) a few years ago. 

We've heard from many new users that this is very, very confusing. People hear about Farcaster, search in the app store, can't find anything called Farcaster and then churn.

Warpcast should rebrand to Farcaster. 🧵 

We are all here to move forward a different version of the world that is built on more decentralized rails, but fighting over peanuts (Farcaster is still insignificant to 99.999% of the world) is counter-productive. Achieving impact requires scale, there is no way around this.

Hindsight is 20/20 and I was there when the decision to rename to Warpcast happened, but it should've never been renamed Warpcast. But after it was, there should've been a better effort to distinguish the two in public discourse. And now, the brand value has accrued to Farcaster, not Warpcast.

If we want to leverage the brand value, there needs to be a front door that captures that. Uniswap is probably the best example of this, Protocol and Primary-app are the same name. It has been great for Uniswap, and plenty of people build on the protocol.

But in addition, Uniswap open-sourced its frontend. I believe Farcaster should take this same step. 

Open source the Warpcast client, if you want to be able to adopt the protocol brand. And put some sort of marker in place to move the multisig to a more "board style" rather than just Dan & Varun.
