Discuss: Something my I’ve been a little obsessed with since I heard Peter Thiel mention it about the Great Pyramids. “What motivated them culturally?” 1:04:36 https://youtu.be/klRb0_BAX9g?si=zoliRfQqQB955G1-

Sure it is a pretty crazy feat to build the pyramids, and how they did it is astounding! But, the reason for why is greater. Why was a civilization or more specifically a group of elites so motivated to build them?

Apply that to today. Why were a group of people working to build a decentralized version of the internet? Why should a culture be interested or motivated to adopt it? Why is there an arms race for AI?

Most of us will likely give the obvious answer: “escape technofuedalism” or “build leverage using AI and be its controller” But we know with crypto that the history goes a long way back to the original cypherpunks and AI has a history going to even further back with a more recent history with EA.

I’ll add a bit more: The world is built based on motivating ideologies and what those ideologies believe should exist in the world. Each ideology is competing to “take over the world” because they are “correct”. But what motivates each ideology to grow/expand and conquer minds/capital?
