My takeaway from Hyperliquid is I'd use it over binance or coinbase anyday. They're working on EVM-compatibility and native staking. Cool defi primitives and unmatched UX. I can see the hype. Huge potential to be the go to on-chain dex between all these other L1s. Insane marketcap if it fulfills that role (which it is primed to do.) So will continue to generate lots of excitement. Especially given how smooth and instant it is. If you're a trader it's really that cool. Beyond that not feeling as much excitement after 24h. Prob need to explore more.

What makes its DeFi primitives something that can’t be copied? And what is unmatched UX for a blockchain outside of latency, bandwidth, and gas costs?

I mean nothing that can't be copied in today's day and age ultimately. Community ownership is one that's hard to copy. And yea pretty much latency, bandwidth and gas exactly haha. I know they're working on native staking for protocols built on top (is what my friend said), which I just took as "blast but natively for anything built on hyperliquid". But gas, latency and bandwidth onchain is enough to canibalize pretty much all the defi competition outside of the ethereum bubble imo
