Sound.xyz: Redefining the Future of Music with Web3 The music industry is undergoing a radical transformation with digitalisation. However, streaming platforms and traditional distribution models make it difficult for artists to make a fair profit. This is where Sound.xyz is starting a revolution with blockchain technology and NFTs that will change the value of music in favour of artists. Sound.xyz was founded in 2021 with the mission to ‘honour the value of music’. The platform aims to bring artists' works directly to fans by converting them into NFTs. Royalty revenues, which are lost in the traditional model, turn in favour of artists here: Regular income is generated from NFT sales and secondary market transactions. How does it work? Artists press their tracks as limited edition NFTs (usually 25-100 units). Each NFT contains metadata that personalises the listening experience: Artist notes, collector's comments and even surprises such as the hidden ‘Golden Egg’.
