Solana’s journey began in 2017 when Anatoly Yakovenko, a former engineer at Qualcomm, set out to create a blockchain capable of processing thousands of transactions per second. By using a novel consensus mechanism, Proof of History (PoH), Solana aims to solve the scalability problem that has plagued other blockchains.
