Fungi help decompose plastic and petroleum products. Fungi also work with plants to “capture” carbon and store it in the ground for centuries, which promotes soil fertility and reduces excess carbon, resulting in less CO2 being released into the atmosphere, which helps maintain the climate. Well done fungi! 🍄
