This image is not a hunting moment, when a retriever brings a shot duck to a hunter. Upon closer inspection, it can be seen that the duck is alive, and the dog is holding it carefully and very carefully. The fact is that at that time they had been friends for several years.
Back in 1947, the photographer brought home a duckling, which immediately became a family favorite, and the dog took care of him. When the duckling got stronger, the owner took him to the pond so that he could swim with other ducks. However, the retriever had a completely different point of view on this matter - he instantly jumped into the pond after his pet and pulled him to shore.

What an interesting story, I think people need to learn from animals about touching relationships with each other!
