In December, Google announced a new quantum chip. It sparked mixed reactions within the crypto community, as quantum computing could theoretically break cryptographic algorithms. However, renowned cryptographer Adam Back believes that this threat may only become real in several decades. At the same time, he suggests that the transition to the quantum era could even strengthen the Bitcoin network, as research into post-quantum signatures could make blockchain more secure.
