Mansa Musa, the 14th-century emperor of Mali, is famed for his legendary wealth and his extravagant pilgrimage to Mecca in 1324. His journey, marked by lavish spending and generous donations, was so impactful that it caused inflation in the regions he traveled, highlighting the immense prosperity of the Mali Empire.
