What are the main reasons you listen to music? No right or wrong answers, just curious to hear your thoughts

How do you decide which music to play for different moods? For example, when you’re feeling happy and energetic, or during a long drive in the car. And can you say more about memory? Do certain moments or experiences remind you of specific songs or albums, or is it the other way around?

i have spotify and youtube playlists ready to go for my usual moods lol( calm, coding, creative work, hype...). When i find good music for eg from /music i add it to respective playlist For memory, some albums/artists are forever attached to where/when i first heard them. so if im feeling nostalgic about that time /place i play those artists/albums

Playlists are big for me as well, but I usually stick to ones curated by me or my friends. I don’t really go for Spotify’s official playlists, even though they’re super popular. I just tend to avoid playlists where I don’t know the curator

That’s another thing I’m curious about: how people come up with their playlist titles. For me, I like to let a song inspire the playlist, and then the title of that song ends up being the name of the playlist

That makes sense. For me its a matter of user interface. It's usually a mood that I am in or trying to get to that determines what i listen to. And i hate how many clicks it takes to get to my playlists. But if i type my mood into the browser, i can get to my playlist in one click from the browser history.

No matter what UI they come up with, a search bar that works really well is undefeated
