i stumbled upon this painting the other day and it stopped me in my tracks! it's so rich in symbolism. i love the raven/crow(?) the most. this is actually the cover artwork for joanna newsom's album "ys", released in 2006. it is a portrait of her, painted by benjamin vierling, who has actually created quite a number of album covers in his time. you can see more of his work here: https://bvierling.com/
