We quote "Links, which is a long-lived, directed, typed relationship between two users."

"Links can express different types of relationships and be upgraded to express relationships between users and non-user objects."

2/ The Importance of the Social Graph

Since recommendation and generation of feeds needs the social graph to function correctly, ensuring the portability of it is important.

3/ Incentivizing Applications

Hence, a key focus would be finding ways to incentivize applications to to publish links and follows.

Applications can now use Link APIs to fetch follows (Warpcast) from Hubs.

4/ Warpcast

Since most users would typically start their journey on @farcaster on
@warpcast the follow graph there would typically be the most relevant/accurate.

1/ The Issue

The incentives to publish the follow graph correctly are weak, and some applications may not publish the follows.

Users who switch apps may not realize that their follow graph is not portable. This causes them to "stick with the current" app that they are using.
