Today, BICA Roatán partnered with Abundant Life Foundation to teach the youth about reforestation of native plants. We showed the kids how to plant the trees and successfully planted 15 native fruit trees! Going forward, these students will have the responsibility to check and water the trees; with the goal to one day to bear the fruits of their labor!

It was super rewarding to teach the kids about the importance of sustainability and reforestation. Additionally, it was amazing to see the kids actively participating with the planting and finding spots to put the plants. It’s important that we instill the values of environmental care, provide them with the knowledge and resources as they are the generation that precede us and will take care of the planet when we are no longer here. 🌎🌳
