What is the Taimo Boost 🚀? 

From the view of a subscriber or staker.

I have written a lot in my channel about how it works as a channel owner. Now that more and more channels use a similar strategy, I want to provide a guide and assessment for subscribers and stakers.

Passionate boardgame player, gym enthusiast, sports lover, software engineer & based in Munich (Germany)

There are two stages to the strategy:

1. Owner unstakes all ALFA: High Cashback for stakers. I will call this the Cashback-Phase (CBP)
2. Owner restakes all ALFA: High ALFA rewards for subscribers. I will call this the High-ALFA-rewards-Phase (ARP)

Next we will answer what happens at the beginning and during each phase for the subscribers and stakers.

When the Cashback-Phase (CBP) starts:
- ALFA in the channel is decreased significantly.
- All stakers gain a big cashback boost because their portion of the stake increases.

- The ALFA rewards for subscribers drops significantly.
- The channel owner loses income in the short-term to benefit the stakers and gain new stakers to diversify the stake in the channel.

During CBP:
- The cashback boost for stakers is over time getting smaller by others seeing the opportunity and staking ALFA
- The ALFA reward for subscribers increases over time until it reaches a similar level as before the CBP

When High-ALFA-rewards-Phase (ARP) starts:
- The stakers‘ cashback is reduced because their stake is diluted by the restaked ALFA.
- The ALFA rewards for subscribers is boosted and significantly higher than before CBP. This is the time subscribers benefit.

During ARP:
- The channel grows because over time new subscribers join. This is the goal and benefit of the channel owner.
- The ALFA reward for subscribers slowly decreases again to the same level as before the CBP.

While there is no data and perfect math yet (@goshop working on a dashboard here; check his channel out!) based on my napkin math this is what happens to everyone involved:

The exact math who benefits the most and if subscribers loose/gain ALFA rewards compared to not using the strategy depends mainly on the duration of the CBP and ARP. This works and benefits everyone as long as people subscribe with the main reason of farming ALFA.

I suggest to communicate clearly to subscribers and stakers what you are doing. No one is being scammed or loses out on ALFA rewards.

TLDR: Subscribers don’t gain/loose much, stakers gain short-term and marginally also long-term, the channel grows. The strategy works and benefits everyone as long as people subscribe with the main reason of farming ALFA.

Subscribers get a good average ALFA reward they can rely on if they subscribe through the whole cycle.

Stakers get a boosted cashback that is payed by the channel owners short-term lost income.

Channel owners grow their channel and gain long-term from it.
