Musk was rejected On February 14th local time, CCTV reporters learned that the board of OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, unanimously rejected Elon Musk's offer to acquire the company's assets for $97.4 billion. On the 10th, a consortium led by Musk offered $97.4 billion in an attempt to take control of OpenAI. Musk's lawyer, Mark Toberoff, stated that the acquisition proposal had been submitted to the OpenAI board. On the 11th, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman described Musk's proposal to acquire OpenAI as "absurd" and confirmed that the company would not be selling.
