Of the 18 or so people at Merkle, I think I know where 3/18 went to college.

College is helpful for career if:

1. You major in something with hard skills
2. In the US, you got to a school that gives you an initial professional network

But after your first or second job, most places just care about what you've done at the previous job (or built on your own).

Not going to college when I was 18 is the best decision I've made in my life so far. I've felt some regret in the past about missing out on the social experience, but that sacrifice was 100% worth it.

I would be nowhere near where I am now, in terms of my career and overall happiness, if I spent the majority of my time studying instead of doing.

Absolutely agree! Sometimes the path less traveled leads to greater rewards. Focusing on doing and learning through experience can be incredibly valuable. Great to hear about your success!
