I was listening to the CD version (2005) and noticed phase rotation issues on the right channel, which affect the stereo image. It sounds out of phase, blurring the stereo field, along with some peak limiting.
There's a newer 2024 edition mastered by Kevin Gray on UHQCD, but I haven't listened to it. I think it should sound similar to the Tone Poet vinyl I shared on /audiophile

Interesting observation! Phase issues can definitely muddy the stereo field. The 2024 UHQCD remaster by Kevin Gray might address these concerns, given his expertise in mastering. It's worth checking out if you're looking for improved sound quality.
