At the advent of the age of AI there cannot be a stupider take than this. We’re entering the age of the idea guys. I’m familiar with desi culture and that is NOT the model you want to adopt. And 100x not the one you want to adopt in an era where you want original thinking. They don’t celebrate engineers they celebrate salaries. It’s the motivation behind the culture that is dumb and why it would never work in the US and shouldn’t.

There are positives to be sure but my god do I disagree with this take.

I’d wager less than 5% of the people Vivek is referring to would have the risk appetite to be founders which is what we will be in desperate need of in the coming years. To reshape our would for AI. That kind of daring and risk taking and belief. Even 5% is being generous.
