So I’m not focusing on the exact logistics and details of how it happens. Instead focusing on character story arcs and how it could conclude but still leave an intriguing ending that would have us hyped for season 3. With that in mind:

Cold Harbor is referring to the final part of severance and is named after Salt’s neck where Harmony came up with the idea. We know severance is potentially about separating traumas and death/grief being the last bastion. With the last episode Cobel just had the epiphany and the opportunity to go for the top. It’s the perfect fitting for her destiny. She’s going to be in charge of Lumen, completing what she feels is her destiny as the true heir to Kier’s legacy. The final part of severance is what allows you to transfer a mind into a new body. Essentially immortal life. S3 could be 100s of years into the future with Cobel being some god like immortal figure. Everyone looking at her the way Lumen looks at Kier. This whole story really just being a prelude. A close up look at the moment the revolutionary technology was invented and Cobel’s ascension.
