I'm just glad we can stop pretending. These ones are in front of the curtain instead of the convoluted mess that existed behind the curtain previously. Ultimately as long as they don't get in the way of progress with crypto and ai, everything else is temporary and moot.

i'd argue there's a lot that's important besides crypto and AI.

that's a good thing no doubt. do you trust these guys to make it happen, do you think they have our best interests in mind. if so, why?

I think they’re less likely to get in the way as the other guys because they’re greedy (for money or progress or both) and they didn’t have as much influence and power (politically) being that they were outsiders. So disrupting the current paradigm and power structures is aligned with their incentives. I trust that. Now does that mean won’t they just want to entrench themselves? Now it’s an even bigger problem? Sure but we’re close enough to escape velocity that it appears to be the lesser of two evils. This is assuming worst case motives. Any motives revolving genuine betterment of humanity is a bonus.
