Looking for genuine/thoughtful responses 🙏 Assuming you agree with the two statements below: 1. I can’t time markets 2. I’ve made many mistakes buying/selling specific coins What’s stopping you, today, from holding a diversified basket/index of the crypto market and holding it forever? And yes, it exists.

My risk tolerance is higher. Don't have enough to justify reducing risk. Also that only makes sense if you're too lazy to do research. Diversification is something Wall Street sells so you can park your money and they can gamble with it through all kinds of regulatory tricks. It's not the optimal strategy it's sold as.

I’d argue the opposite! Wall Street sell’s charging high fees because “we can pick what assets will outperform the market” but actually the research year after year shows that a majority of active managers charge you and underperform the index of the market. Happy to send more on that topic

True but I'm more referring to the marketing of diversification as being the general accepted optimal strategy. Upon which the above is one of the methods used to extract your money. Once you remove diversification as optimal strategy you question the above, as well as things like indexes until certain level of wealth.

Wouldn’t you agree “just buy the S&P500 and wait 30 years” is the optimal strategy for the majority of retail investors in the last few decades? At least with the majority of your portfolio, with some room left for conviction bets?
